Our cultural and congress centre presents, produces, coproduces, organizes and distributes artistic and cultural events, congresses, fairs, ceremonial and other events, exhibitions and festivals. Since Cankarjev dom is primarily a cultural centre, more than two thirds of venue availability is annually allocated to culture and the arts. Our programme aims at improving the quality of life, design, develop and affirm the nation’s cultural and broader identity, as well as foster young people’s appreciation of culture and the arts. In implementing contemporary cultural and artistic projects, we cooperate with related Slovenian and international cultural institutions. In this way, we seek to enhance the openness of Slovenia’s capital city through a vibrant international artistic exchange and scientific knowledge sharing. 
 

Cankarjev dom builds and realizes its goals and successful artistic projects with the help of its Culture & the Arts sponsors, partners and donors. The support they have offered us has helped build long-standing collaborations and alliances, which play a key role in selecting and implementing our Culture & the Arts programme. We are united in our desire to continue providing first-class artistic experiences, as well as enhance and expand the content of our programmes. These partnerships often involve joint promotional and other campaigns that provide greater access to cultural events and programmes. 
 

As Slovenia’s main cultural and congress centre and a vibrant cultural hub, Cankarjev dom enjoys international visibility. 

Cankarjev dom is an active member of the world's most prestigious cultural management associations and professional congress organizers. In cooperation with these organisations and building on the knowledge acquired through these memberships, our centre works towards enriching the quality and level of cultural events and event management in Slovenia.

Working hand in hand with its partners, Cankarjev dom strengthens the local economy, encourages creativity and contributes to the region’s rich cultural life. As a professional congress organizer, Cankarjev dom cooperates with local partners in organizing receptions, transport, accommodation, social programmes and motivational experiences. The congress and event management department also organizes meetings off-site, at other venues in Ljubljana and throughout Slovenia.
